Y E S I K N O W J A C K !!! I used to work here when it opened as SIDNEY'S, then FIREROCK, then MAJOR'S. Sheesh. It has been MAD JACK'S for quite some time now, and I think it is very comfortable here. For a Sunday afternoon, the bar is hoppin! The restaurant side looked empty, but filled up as I left. Very cosy in here now. The copper topped table in my booth was curiously interesting and novel. I like it. I now have another Holy Trinity : Scallops Bacon Grilled Pineapple Yes, on the appetizer menu you can get this TRINITY for $10 something. I'll be back! I also ordered the cheese curds to go so I could evaluate them for future reference, and see if they are List Worthy. Alas, they are not. They were under done, and needed sauce. The menu looked better than most sports bars, but the walleye fingers and other walleye items were overpriced. I almost got the coconut shrimp, till I saw the scallops. There is a HUGE selection of Gluten Free items too. Celiacs Welcome :-) Guess I need to go back and try more things. And, the crowd at the bar was was eclectic... old, young, biker, jocks, and all seemed to get along great! The staff was young, but better trained than most sports bars. This is one of our Favorites. Good food and service. We like the Sirloin Tips and the burgers. The drinks are great too!

Sad there's no meatball option for spaghetti. Food was tasty but experience was sad. Took co-workers for dinner and, upon paying with my credit card, the waitress brings it back and loudly announces "your card was declined"- in front of everyone. WHAT??? The manager comes over about 1/2 hour later and explains that their internet connection had gone down and my card was NOT declined- just unprocessed...

Solid rotisserie chicken, not so great service, but it was fairly busy. Ribs were okay. I would go back for appetizers and beer for sure.

I won't be visiting Mad Jacks again. Three friends and I were lured to Mad Jacks on their 3 course meal for 2 people for $25 as advertised on their website. We arrived to find out that they have raised the price to $30. Meh, disappointing bait and switch, but not enough to walk away. We start off the night with a round of drinks; one friend's beer glass had not been washed out properly as the beer tasted like sucking on a soap bar. She asked for a different beer and with some argument, she did get a second beer, which did taste better. Mad Jacks did refund the price of the first beer. The appetizers came and they were ok, not bad but not something to write home about. Waitress asked everyone individually if they wanted a refill for their drink. People that said no were asked twice for confirmation on their decision. I don't know about you, but this annoyed me to no end. Main course was horrible. Everyone was disappointed with their food. My chicken fettuccine was the worst I've ever had; I didn't even finish 1/4 of the serving. The chicken was extremely dry, the side bread was burnt, and the sauce was very thin with zero flavor - almost like they had just poured milk onto noodles. The dessert was good, I shared the Chocolate Mousse. If you do decide to visit Mad Jacks, the only thing I can recommend is this dessert. Tab came and they did not discount to the $30 as advertised. We had to bring this to the attention of the waitress and she did fix the issue.

This is not your generic sports bar. Good food, nice staff and better than average sports bar surroundings. Plus, super convenient location, and plenty of space. It's got lots of tv's, lots of beer options, plenty of seating, but what sets Mad Jacks apart from the pack is the food. The cooks clearly have skills, and the menu has lots of items that your generic chain sports bar will never have. Prices are fair, although not cheap. Mad Jacks works for a business lunch just as well when watching the Packers crush the Vikings.

Meh. My friend liked it for their gluten free options. Wasn't too impressed by the menu but certainly not the worst ever. But I will give it a try again next time I am in Vadnais. For some reason the inside was not what I expected for a place called mad jacks but that might be a good or bad thing ha! Will try again though soon!

First time here with my family and boy was I disappointed with our waitress. She was too busy to even stop and converse about what was good at the restaurant! It was a dead night too! At a normal restaurant where anyone would go to, with family or not, would get at least a feedback about what you should try. I can see why she would have a hard time giving any input though, the food for the price isn't worth it. I'd go in for the appetizers again though because the entrees were bland - even with salt and black pepper added to it. The best dishes we did have were off the appetizer section. As well as the chicken wild rice soup and our cup of water. Speaking of water, NEVER get the Alfredo! It was literally drenched pasta in water sauce. Did not even finish it! Hardly touched it. However, I did pack it home for my dog to devour.

Monday the 13th. Maybe it just got bad on the way home too but was just a little disappointing. Sweet potato fry dipping sauce was good though.

We wanted breakfast, a bloody Mary and great service. We were blessed with all three. The bloody Mary bar was $3.50 per drink with bar pour vodka. My wife and I ate the "Gold Mine Skillet" and "Mr. Benedict". Both meals were A+. The hollandaise sauce is superb. Tia our server was "Top Notch". I would have given 5-stars but the restroom stall doors in each of the bathrooms need some attention. My wife could not even lock the first stall she walked into. We will be back for lunch and dinner in the future.

Wow had the loaded sirloin tips and split them with the hubby. Omg so stuffed those things are huge and were awesome. Defiantly a must try!

Our waitress was very helpful and nice. I ordered the killer combo which was rotisserie chicken (1/4) and a half rack of ribs. The food did not disappoint! The chicken had a nice seasoning that didn't overpower the juicy meat. The ribs had just enough sauce to flavor, but weren't dripping or messy. I will definitely be coming back.

This is one of our favorite hangouts for a good brew or appetizer or full meal. Always get fast service and delicious food. The patio is small but nice. My favorite thing to order is the caprese flatbread pizza.

Just moved to the area and stopped in for happy hour with my boyfriend. The bartender was super rude! Throwing things, stomping around and wouldn't even talk to the customers. Clearly she doesnt like her job. A big turn off for the restaurant.

I was pleasantly surprised to find a delicious strawberry feta salad that was very delicious! My Mom had chili, which she enjoyed. Our server was knowledgeable, efficient and friendly enough. I'd go back.

Gluten free paradise!! I have yet to find another restaurant in the Cities (if you know of any, TELL ME) that has a dedicated deep fryer for those who order from the gluten free menu. I know what you're thinking: who even eats deep fried food anymore? Well, when you have had a whole bunch of food (mostly all the best Friday night go-to kinda junk) taken out of your diet due to gluten, it's incredibly awesome to be able to indulge in deep-fried food every once and a while. Their gluten free pizza crust is one of the best we've tried. About $16 for a 12" GF pizza which gives my hungry husband plenty for leftovers the next day. I'd say that's a win when you go to places like Pizza Luce and you get a less-than-personal-pan-size pizza for $20. Besides the gluten free goodness, I love the regular Mad Meat pizza and basically all of their apps... lots of different flavors of wings from which to choose (from "Szechuan" to "Venom"). Also, if you're into watching TV while you're on a date or with a friend, they have personal TVs in each booth ;) Haha.

We went to Mad Jacks last night when we found ourselves in a part of town where it seems there are few sit down restaurants. We ambled in to Mad Jacks and were expecting to wait for awhile since it was a Friday around seven. We were told that we would be sat immediately and that they just needed to wipe down a table. Two minutes later we were in our seats. The atmosphere was nice, reminded me of what Gaston's pub from Beauty and the Beast would be like in real life. Twins game was on and we were happy campers. We were immediately thrilled to see sweet potato tots on the menu. What in the world could be better than that statement!? We ordered those and some drinks to start out. Our server, Stephanie, was sweet and friendly. We pointed out to her that one of the words on the menu was spelt horribly wrong and she chuckled and said, "Oh! How embarrassing!" and laughingly told the manager. Yup, we were those people that night. She took our orders and we did not wait long at all for the food. The tots were as we thought they would be, AWESOME!!! I ordered the salmon and was bowled over by the awesome flavor. Unfortunetly, my salmon was not fully cooked and was a littel mushy in the middle. I pointed it out to my server and within a couple minutes the manager was at our table, explaining to me that the salmon is normally soaked in a brine for 24 hours, but this batch did not get soaked for that entire time and therefore didn't get cooked all the way through. He apologized and said he had already taken it off of our bill. I told him that was not necessary and that I had really loved it, but he insisted that he wanted us to return and have a good experience. Well, mission accomplished! We plan on going back and trying some of the other items on the menu since we each had trouble picking just one. It sounds like happy hour is the time to go, so we will have to check that out too! Try this place. The menu is extensive, the staff friendly and the food and drinks were positoovely delish!

Most of the food is pretty good. The corn bread is very good, service can be a bit slow at times, but they are always very friendly. I really enjoy the patio here in the summer

Last time I was at Mad Jack's, I had their Fish & Chips. They were Tilopia Fish & Chips. When I got them , there were there brown spots in the fish. (No Thank You) I returned it then a "Manager" came by and told me that the fish is "edible". I had the dry-rub wings instead. Much better. If you like Fish & Chips. Look elsewhere.

Four of us grabbed drinks and apps here couple weeks ago. The place was slow but the atmosphere was clean and nice. The food was really good, the drinks were also good. From start to finish this was a good place. It wasn't amazing but come on, not every place can be. If you thinking about happy hour or sports bar this is your place.

We frequent MJ's quite often. Never had a bad meal...great bar...and a great Gluten Free menu...they import their gluten free bread from Chicago...make great gluten free sandwiches.

We moved out of the area but went back last night after a long hiatus. I don't know... everything was fine, but really just mediocre. Our waitress seemed like she'd rather be anywhere else than working that night. She did a fine job but just seemed really ho-hum about everything. The food was also just fine. My taco salad was disappointing for $10, half of the plate was stale tortilla chips which I pulled off immediately, leaving me with maybe $6 worth of actual salad. Sweet potato tots were still good! I think we're over this place. It seemed great before but we don't feel the need to return.

Good food but average to below average service. The manager was not around on a busy Saturday night. The waitress seemed to rush us out, more interested in turning tables than providing an enjoyable experience, like she knew she wasn't good at her job and made less in tips so she was trying to make up for it in volume. An obligatory "how are you guys doing?" was followed by a swish of the pony tail and she was gone, unable to hear me ask for a refill. The check appeared in a flash, as if to say, "I've got more customers coming, beat it". The flat iron steak was supposedly cooked on a flat fryer, but it had grill marks. Not sure what to make of that, but it was a good cut. I would recommend it after a savvy service manager put some quality time in over there.

I didn't expect to find such a cool place in Brooklyn Park! Mad Jack's is a nice place with really good food, lots of tvs and a great new patio with an outdoor bar! They have a fun Karaoke show Saturday nights - I got to sing more than I thought I would which was a bonus :) They also have a good B fast Sundays and pull tabs.

Food is lackluster, atmosphere is ok, bartenders aren't very good, beer list is average. All around a very average experience. Nothing special but not terrible either. Will do in a pinch. One of the nicer places to grab a beer and a burger in the area.

Just tonight, we had the Margherita flatbread, and a couple burgers with straight fries and waffle fries. Loved the food, the service at the bar, and the house brew. Sadly I cannot bring my friends there for burgers and fries due to the awful sub-par condiment selection. The ketchup and mustard are totally generic for the midwest area. The ketchup was so gross and sweet, we like to enjoy ketchup with our fries, (burgers don't need a tad of assistance to the already delicious wonderment of flavor) but generic flavors makes us question other generic qualities? I must say again, our service at the bar was completely ideal.

I have been here twice and now I feel it's a perfect time to leave s review so that I can help others who may encounter this establishment. The first visit to mad jacks was very enjoyable, the decor was very nice, the server was very attentive to our needs kept our drinks filled and was really courteous. I had the turkey Burger and my mother and girlfriend had the quarter pound beef burger. The fries were good the sour cream sauce was good as well as the strawberry lemonades. So the first visit was perfect, and couldn't complain. Upon the second visit the service was horrible at best, the server seemed like she was in over her head, she had a few tables and our drinks were needing refills for several minutes. Also when the food came it was a bit cold as if it had been sitting out for a while, I used to serve and we call this letting the food die. So then when we got home I got really sick and hadn't eaten anything that day other then grilled cheese so I knew what was the cause f me becoming ill and I believe it was because the food sat out to long, which also could mean the chicken I had gotten may had sat out to long as well. Also the fork had some crud in it and they replaced that, the only thing I liked about this visit was the managements willingness to make things right. So the long and the short of it are I will never return to mad jacks because I only give a place one time when it comes to making me ill, because depending on the situation some poisoning you get from a restaurant could be life threatening not saying that this was but it definitely did not set well with my stomach. I gave mad Jacks 2 stars because the first time I went it was superb.

Fun place to drink. Fun staff. Excellent food. Have tried many of the appetizers and they're all amazing! Strong drinks. Great atmosphere. A little fancier than your average sports bar. Good specials.

Nice sports bar atmosphere! Came here with a 10 person group last weekend and we all thoroughly enjoyed the food a service we got. My husband and I ordered the meat pizza. It had a nice crispy thin crust, with lots of meat without being too greasy. Everyone else ordered various sandwiches, with no complaints. Looking forward to returning soon!

Not bad but nothing special. Serving sizes were a little skimpy, normally after eating out there's leftovers. I had potato skins I liked that they had jalapenos. Hubs had spicy burger it was spicy but no flavor. The decor is nice more upscale for sport's bar.

Stopped in here after church last week and was pleasantly surprised. Plenty of TV's to watch football in the bar or restaurant, service was good and food was good. Didn't WOW us out but no complaints. We plan on stopping here again when in the area.

My wife and I were searching for a gluten free restaurant in the St. Paul area because we were going to be in the area nearby. We found Mad Jacks and the reviews looked good so we stopped in for lunch. The gluten-free menu was extensive with probably more options than I have seen ever. She was in the mood for a hamburger so she got the quarter pounder with the sweet potato fries. I ordered the chicken tenders off the appetizer menu on the back and got $2 off for being in at happy hour. My father-in-law ordered the nachos and my mother-in-law ordered the adult mac and cheese. My wife's hamburger was the best she had eaten since being diagnose with Celiac Disease 4 years ago. We have tried many hamburger buns that are gluten free and this one was by far the best. It stayed together, had great texture, and great taste. This alone will be bringing us back to the restaurant. The chicken tenders I ordered were also excellent. If you have ever had Claim Jumper's chicken tenders, these are extremely similar and the breading was very crispy. My father-in-law enjoyed his nachos and usually doesn't like eating out, so that was a big plus on the restaurant as well. My mother-in-law also enjoyed her meal of the adult mac and cheese. The waitress was very polite and brought out refills of each drink without us every having to ask. The food was served promptly and everything was freshly prepared. On top of everything else, the bill was a lot cheaper than anywhere else we have eaten and we were able to leave with a bill of less than $30 for a change. Overall, we were all very satisfied with the experience of eating at Mad Jacks and will be eating there in the future.

Mad Jack's isn't worth a special trip up here but if you're in the area, why not? We live nearby and have been here several times - once with some friends but usually with just myself, my husband and the munchkin. I think the best way to summarize Mad Jack's is like this: when they get it right it is very right. When they get it wrong, they're all, "yeah, whatever." The atmosphere is chic sports bar meets subtle north woods kitsch. The lighting is quite pretty and something about walking in the door immediately has me craving a Leinenkugel. Those damn deer antler chandeliers and the sweeping floor to ceiling fireplace get me every time. There are flat screen TV's ensconced at every booth and playing the game of the minute that I like to think of dually as husband-attention-snatchers and baby-distraction-makers. He doesn't remember a word I say but I get to eat in peace while my pride and joy stares raptly at whatever game they're airing (ugh, she loves television...greeeaaaatttt...) A few of the things I've tried here are the kebabs, the strawberry and feta salad, nachos and a burger. The ones that stand out the most in my memory were the salad and the nachos because of the option to add rotisserie chicken--one of the better food decisions I've made here! Jack's rotisserie chicken is juicy and has good flavor. Service can be a bit of a crap shoot and as I alluded to before, if they make a mistake not a lot is done to rectify the error which leads me to believe that mistakes are so commonplace for some of these servers that it's easy to treat them with an annoyingly blasé attitude. It sucks when that happens but when it doesn't, Jack's isn't half bad. Added bonus: things are loud and boisterous in here so if your kid is the kind who gets their jollies off by banging stuff on the table, nobody will notice.

:sigh: I feel like I'm becoming a girl who spends her weekend in the suburbs. Really, I don't. But I DID happen to dine at Mad Jacks on Sunday night and they DID happen to have some really fantabulous happy hour specials. Szechuan (sp?) green beans? Yes please. Five bucks for a chicken flatbread? Uhm, YEAH. Add some unlimited diet coke refills and some hockey on the flat screens and you have this girl's idea of a perfect Sunday date night. Mad Jacks, I'll be back.

The food tasted decent and the prices were alright. Besides that, i got food poisoning from eating there. I was throwing up for almost 12 hours straight and at times i felt like i was going to die!! The other three people people in our party were fine, but we all ordered different things. Stay away from the bleu cheese!!!

LOVE the sweet potato tots! LOVE the full gluten free menu! LOVE the service! Been here several times and consistently great food and service. Best gluten free menu we've found in the cities. Had kabob and smoky jack burger in past and tonight we had chicken artichoke sandwich and BBQ chicken sandwich. Great seasoning on everything

Good place for a beer and maybe a simple appetizer. But, it has got to be the most inconsistent kithcen I have ever been to. One day we had steak bites coated in a terrble sauce, next time we ordered steak bites no sauce, they told us, "steak bites don't come w/ a sauce on them." Told them last time they did. Waiters response, "you must be mistaken." Oh well when they arrive w/o that sauce they are pretty good. On another occasion we tried a garbage pizza. Cheese on top was melted, but everything underneath was luke warm at best. We sent it back to cook a little more. We watched the Kithcen manager (I believe) point at our table and obviously share an opinion with a waiter. When he brought the pizza back he said the reason it was undercooked was because it had gotten too many toppings, so he had to go easy on the new pizza. C'mon, we ordered the thing off the menu w/ no additons. Any pizza place in the world can cook a garbage pizza. Except this place and because we sent it back for being cold they decided to skimp on the toppings. The food isn't all bad, you just don't know what you are going to get.

This restaurant is located right by Chipotle so even though it has been open for a while I finally decided to give up having a burrito one time and try something new. Even though the parking lot is packed the place is pretty big inside. Set up is nice with open kitchen and I think every booth had it's own flat screen tv. They definately didn't skimp on the tvs in this place! I ordered the Big Blue Burger and Hubby ordered BBQ Chicken Sandwich. The burger was good. Just enough of everything. Tried a bite of the chicken sandwich, pretty good, nothing special. It was shredded chicken instead of the chicken breast. French fries were $1.00 extra - I guess that is the norm now as I notice everywhere I go they charge extra for fries. There were many items on the menu that looked great so I would definately stop by here again.
